Are there extended warranty options?
Does my existing electrical panel need to be upgraded?
Most times no it will not need to be upgraded. In some cases, it would be a good time to upgrade old out-of-date panels though as it could save you money vs doing at a latter date.
What void’s the warranty?
There are many things that can void the warranty but here are a few of the main examples:
- Improper Installation: Violating code (wiring, fuel, clearances), installing indoors, or using non-Generac parts.
- Not performing regular maintenance
- Generator installed indoors
- Misuse: Using as prime power (instead of backup), modifying the design (exhaust, etc.), or using it for unintended applications.
- Unauthorized Repairs: Work done by non-authorized technicians or using non-Generac parts.
Do I need permits and inspections?
Yes. All generator installations require at least 2 permits and inspections. One for the electrical work and 2nd for the gas line installation. This is to ensure safety and compliance. We will handle all permits and scheduling the inspections.
What happens if our generator has a problem?
We offer ongoing service and diagnostics. Many issues can be spotted remotely if you choose our LTE Mobile Link Fleet monitoring. If a problem occurs, our certified technicians can troubleshoot and repair quickly.
Will my gas meter or gas line need to be upsized?
Most likely yes. Your gas meter is likely sized for what gas appliances you have in your home, and a standby generator typically adds 250, 000 BTU’s or more of gas load.
