Founded in 2007 by electrician Scott Douglass, Specialized Power Services (SPS) began as a high-voltage electrical contracting business serving industrial clients across Michigan. Scott’s reputation for precision, integrity, and technical skill quickly attracted customers who encouraged him to start his own company — and he hasn’t looked back since.
When the industrial sector slowed in 2009, Scott pivoted into home standby generators to fill the gap. What started as a few installs quickly evolved into a thriving full-time business. Today, SPS focuses exclusively on backup power — installing and servicing residential and light commercial generators throughout the Brighton and Ann Arbor areas.
